Getting scheduled for an overnight sleep study is a journey towards improving the quality of your life; therefore, it requires a time commitment on your part while partnering with our sleep team. Our Sleep Specialists are dedicated to making sure you receive a proper diagnosis and the best treatment possible. This requires first scheduling an appointment with one of our Sleep Specialists, who will then decide if you need a sleep study performed and what type of study or other testing that may be necessary. From there you will have your sleep study scheduled. If you have any questions about this process please do not hesitate to contact us.

Cancellations
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us 24 hours notice so that we may give your appointment to another patient who may need to be seen that day but was unable to get in because the appointment was taken.
Emergencies
If you are ill, please call us to see how we can assist you. If however, you are short of breath, having chest pains, or other symptoms requiring immediate attention, we ask that you go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
For better care, please try to call as early in the day as possible for your refills. Any calls received after 3:30 pm will not be returned until the next day. Please call at least two days before a holiday to ensure your prescription will be refilled in time. Mid-South Pulmonary Specialists does not typically prescribe controlled substances. If you have a chronic issue requiring controlled pain medications, we will refer you back to your primary care physician or a pain management specialist to prescribe these medications. Normally, no refills will be called in if you have not been seen in the last 12 months, however, during this pandemic we are willing to extend that deadline to 18 months.
Fees
We recognize the need for a definite understanding between you and your physician concerning health care and the financial arrangements for each episode of medical care. Our commitment is to provide the very best health care to our patients while recognizing the need to limit services to only those that are necessary. The responsibility for payment of fees for these services is the direct obligation of the patient. Any financial payment you may receive from private insurance or government agencies is a matter strictly between you and the insurance carriers or government agencies. Our physicians participate with Medicare and do accept assignment on Medicare claims; however, any deductibles, co-payments, or co-insurance not paid by Medicare or other carriers is your responsibility. It is also your responsibility to know if our physicians participate with your insurance plan. Please call the plan to verify that our physicians participate with your current insurance plan because provider directories are not always current. We reserve the right to decide which plans we will participate with and which we will not, therefore, it is best for you to verify our continued participation with a particular plan. It is also your responsibility to know if your insurance has specific rules or regulations, such as the need for referrals from primary care physicians, pre-certification, limits on outpatient charges, specific physicians and/or hospitals to use.
The majority of patients have high deductible plans which start over at the beginning of every calendar year. Please be prepared to pay your deductible and a percentage of any past due balances when you arrive for your appointment. The deductibles and co-pays owed, however, are part of your obligation with your insurance carrier and cannot be waived.
Our fees reflect the specialized nature of the physician training and the individual diagnostic studies performed. Our fees are comparable to other similarly trained specialists in the region. We will discuss fees with you at any time, and encourage you to inquire about a fee prior to receiving the service.
You will receive a monthly statement. The first statement will show all charges, with subsequent statements showing any insurance payments. Once insurance has paid, you are responsible for any unpaid balance.
We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. There are opportunities to be placed on a monthly budget agreement for large balances. We will work with you in any reasonable way possible to help you pay your bill. In return, we ask your due diligence in paying your billing promptly and in full.
