Accomplishments
He has published over 80 articles, chapters, and abstracts. He moderates a television show for the Library Channel titled “The Power of Sleep”. Through his work with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Wise has co-authored numerous practice guidelines in sleep medicine, and he served as chairman of a national task force on the indications for polysomnography (sleep studies) in children. He has served as the chairman of a task force to evaluate the treatment of narcolepsy and other hypersomnias. Dr. Wise has also served on the International Classification of Sleep Disorders revision committee (pediatric subcommittee), and he assisted in the development of the Sleep Scoring Manual by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He currently serves on the Board of Sleep Medicine and The American Sleep Medicine Foundation.
General Information
Dr. Wise lives in Memphis and has three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and reading.
